Aug 27 DIVA meeting

Forestry break-in report: Sid reported on the theft of two large screens in the video suite.
Forestry and MAGIC are working with the Campus Security and the RCMP, reviewing
the current security arrangements with an eye towards increasing and improving it.

Backup systems and passwords: MAGIC server should be available to all members later today.
There have been some problems with the passwords but that is being looked into. Every
user will have an account with storage space and a web site.

Status of hirings: Clark Song interviewed this week. We will make an offer tomorrow.

Fall projects/courses: 469: 3 projects listed, 2 applicants already

Reports from labs: Eric’s lab – Sid, Bob, Eric, Adriano and Martin be meeting to plan a timetable
for data capture and analysis. Adriano and Martin are quite interested in being able
to track the new user -- Liz Hamel -- right from the beginning of her training.

Zoe: also wants to follow Liz from the very beginning, and do benchmarks on Marguerite
at a regular time using the CID Everyday phrases. Timeline schedule for each user.
Needs consent form to do interviews: Sid will email the template to her. Zoe will email
with Sid to help set up questions.

Meryn: Meryn, Marguerite, and Bob to meet and work on texts. We should plan a profile
presentation for Creative Writing in the fall.

Helene to get evaluation form to Marguerite. Need to do an evaluation of the current glove in
order to create a new one for Liz. Would like to meet with Sid, Marguerite, and Bob re shoe switch
and has some other ideas. Looking at redesigning harness setup. Also, Helene, Sid and Bob need to
meet re the poster for Pittsburgh. Helene has a training meeting today re the machine at Emily Carr.

Ko has suggested that we add some Japanese phrases for the performance in Japan.
